HIKE AND BIKE TRAIL CLOSURE AT SH-114/US-377 EXTENDED THROUGH SEPTEMBER

JULY 15, 2022

ROANOKE – The Texas Department of Transportation’s closure of the Cade Branch Hike and Bike Trail in Roanoke for the month of July

has been extended, from 7 a.m. July 22 to 6 p.m. September 2.

The interruption allows crews to continue construction of a new bridge at State highway 114 (SH 114) and US Highway 377 (US 377).

The closure is necessary to complete the project in a safe and proper manner. The city of Roanoke supports closing the trail in the interest of

public safety. Work on the new SH 114 bridge, which will improve traffic flow in the area, will require additional trail closures to ensure safety

in the coming year.

The community will continue to be notified of future trail closures in advance. The bridge is expected to be complete in early 2023.

For concerns regarding the temporary trail closure, contact Gabriel Figueroa at (346) 877-0192 or Anthony Fonseca at (713) 534-7503.

For media inquiries, contact TxDOT Public Information Officer Alice Rios Shaw at Mary.Shaw@txdot.gov or (214) 320-4485.
