This page serves as a reference for all businesses who currently have an active solicitation permit on file with the City of Roanoke. Permits are good for 6 months from the original issue date. Solicitors are required to carry their solicitation permit while actively soliciting within Roanoke City Limits. Religious, political or non-profit organizations are exempt from the solicitation permit ordinance. Homeowners who have a "No Soliciting" sign displayed at their residence are permitted to call the Roanoke Police Department if a solicitor disregards the posted sign. Roanoke Police have the right to revoke a solicitor’s permit for not following City Ordinance.
To confirm a solicitor’s permit, report an unpermitted solicitor, or if you have any other questions, please contact Roanoke’s Permitting Department at 817-490-1308. The office is open Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM, with the exception of observed holidays. To reach someone after hours, please call the Roanoke Police Department’s non-emergency number at 817-491-6052.
