Santa Cops

Each year, in December, the Roanoke Police Department organizes a Santa Cops event.

Through a partnership with the Roanoke Food Pantry, the Santa Cops program fulfills the Christmas wishes of underprivileged children within Northwest ISD.  Roanoke Police Department officers, civilian staff and Roanoke Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association volunteers deliver clothes and toys to Roanoke area children that might have otherwise not received gifts for Christmas.

Santa Cops is funded entirely by local donations. It is organized and implemented by Roanoke Police Officers, their families and community volunteers.  Santa Cops would be non-existent without the extreme generosity of the people and businesses of this great community!

How can you help Santa Cops?

Approximately the second Saturday of December each year, a Santa Cops event is held at Walmart in Roanoke. A Santa Cops tree is placed at each entrance of Walmart with the Christmas wishes, as well as the needs, of disadvantaged Roanoke children. We invite everyone to attend, select a Christmas wish from the tree, purchase it and return it to the Roanoke Police Officers and volunteers located at each entrance of Walmart. Santa Cops also accepts cash and check donations which can be dropped off at the Roanoke Police Department at any time.

For additional information, please contact Sergeant Sandy Pettigrew or Officer Tanner Mahan at 817-491-6052.

How do I refer a family to the Santa Cops program?

If you know of a family that needs the help of Santa Cops, please contact the Roanoke Food Pantry at 817-491-4451. The children in the Santa Cops program are provided to the Roanoke Police Department by the Roanoke Food Pantry and must live within Northwest ISD.
