Roanoke's Annual Independence Day Celebration

Roanoke's Independence Day Celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3rd starting at 6pm! Join us for a night of fun with bounce houses, rock climbing wall, fireworks, food, music and more at Roanoke Community Park! 

  • Shuttles begin running to event parking lots at 5:30PM. 
  • Alcohol is NOT PERMITTED at event.
  • Bags and coolers will be checked prior to park entry.

Event FAQs


  • Where is the event?
    • 201 Park Drive, directly behind the Roanoke Fire Department.
  • How much is it to get in?
    • This event is free. Activities are also free. 
  • Will food or drinks be available?
    • BBQ sandwich or hot dog, chips and a drink will be available for only $5.00. Water will be available for purchase, in addition to several new dessert food trucks. Cash and cards are accepted. 
  • Is there an ATM at the event?
    • No, there is not an ATM at the event, but cash and cards are accepted. 
  • Can I bring in chairs?
    • Please be sure to bring your own chairs, blankets, or some sort of seating. 
  • Can I bring in alcohol?
    • NO. Alcohol is not permitted at the event. Bags and coolers will be checked by security prior to park entry. 
  • Will my bag(s)/cooler be searched?
    • Yes, bags and coolers will be checked upon entry at both entry points.
  • Can I bring in food/drink?
    • Yes, food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted.
  • Is the event pet friendly?
    • Yes, any animal must be kept on a leash at all times and cleaned up after. However, please keep in mind that many animals are scared of fireworks. If you aren’t sure, it’s best to leave your furry friend(s) at home. 
  • Where will the shuttles pick-up?
    • Shuttles will run to the event parking lots marked on the parking map, with the exception of the Hawaiian Falls parking lot. The shuttles will begin running at 5:30PM. Please see event parking map. 
  • Will shuttle run after the event is over?
    • Yes, shuttles will run after the event is over. A line will form near where the shuttles dropped off passengers earlier on in the event. 
  • Are the shuttles free to ride?
    • Yes, the shuttles are free to ride.
  • Can I bring my cooler/stroller/etc on the shuttle?
    • Yes, you may bring your items on the shuttle but please be respectful of those around you. We have many individuals to transport!
  • When will the fireworks go off?
    • The fireworks will start at around 9:30PM.
  • When do the bands play?
    • INTXS will perform from 6:00-7:30pm, followed by Le Freak from 8:00-9:30pm and 10:00-10:30pm.
