Welcome

Welcome to the City of Roanoke, the Unique Dining Capital of Texas!

In the center of the fastest growing area of the state, Roanoke is now the central point to the DFW Metroplex, as projected over ten years ago. Year after year, we have experienced prosperity, strong economic growth, a low crime rate, a highly rated school district, and a wide range of affordable housing, while retaining our charming, small town feel, and friendly atmosphere. Roanoke continues to be a great place to live, dine, shop and play, proven by the unprecented growth we’ve experienced in the quality retail, industrial and residential development.

Prime Amenities

We offer the finest amenities to our citizens including an extensive recreation center, athletic fields, several beautiful parks with splash pads, state-of-the-art library, community center and The ‘Noke - Roanoke’s dining themed skate park. Hawaiian Falls – Roanoke, a 14-acre mega-water park, is another popular attraction that brings in residents and visitors from all over. Roanoke works to maintain one of the lowest tax rates in the area, while adding additional amenities throughout the City to benefit residents, businesses and visitors alike. We pride ourselves on the vast variety of amenities we are able to offer as a smaller sized community. 

Recent Renovations

We are currently working on a mixed-use project that is an extension of the Oak Street corridor. This 18-acre tract at the south end of Oak Street will provide a residential product that is not currently available within the City, while embodying the uniqueness already established. With this project, there will be a 300 plus room Peabody Hotel, convention center, new City Hall, as well as additional retail and upscale office space. This will add to the already thriving shopping, dining and entertainment destination Roanoke has become.

The Unique Dining Capital of Texas

Appointed as The Unique Dining Capital of Texas by the Texas House of Representatives in 2009, downtown Roanoke includes the original and world famous Babe’s Chicken Dinner House, the 4-star Classic at Roanoke, Twisted Root Burger Company, Jack & Grill, Hard Eight BBQ, Bayou Jack’s Cajun Grill, Inzo’s Italian Kitchen, Craft & Vine Taproom and Eatery, Wise Guys Pizzeria, Foster’s and many others. Roanoke currently has over 60 delicious and unique restaurants and food establishments to choose from with even more “unique” establishments on the way. We strive to be a destination place not only for our citizens, but also for our surrounding residents and visitors alike. 

Residential Development

Fairway Ranch, a 515-lot housing development off of Byron Nelson Parkway, is in its sixth and final phase of construction. This master planned community began construction in 2011 and has completed three phases. Fairway Ranch represents the final new housing development in Roanoke. The Highlands Glen, Glenmere and Briarwyck communities have all completed construction and represent the newer residential developments Roanoke has to offer in our six-square-mile community. 

My Vision

My vision for Roanoke is simple and is shared by citizens from all over the city. We strive to be the city with the most productive jobs, the highest rate of home ownership, and the best schools of any area in the country. With our low crime rate, we offer a highly desirable community that values strong families, close friendships, and supportive neighborhoods and churches. Roanoke is a prosperous city with a strong, diversified, and vibrant economy that will produce a continually improving quality of life for our residents, businesses, and future generations.
